the great pumpkin post

I posted over at Angela's blog, Frugal Living NW, my big pumpkin post, but I thought I would bring it over here as well.  I know that I have some serious pumpkin lovin' people.

I would put pumpkin in just about everything.  But I draw the line at pumpkin lasagna, which I have made, but pumpkin, in my opinion, is saved for the sweet end of the spectrum.

For the breakfast pumpkin lovers:

::Pumpkin Scones — just like Starbucks.  These are easy to make and taste just like the real thing.
:: Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls — I haven’t tried these, but you bet I will soon.
:: Pumpkin Oatmeal — this is a great one for babies.  I fed this to all my kids, with a little less sugar.

Pumpkin desserts:
:: THE Pumpkin Dessert — so delicious!
:: Pumpkin Cheesecake — my all time favorite!

Happy Autumn and happy pumpkin baking!

My family has a legendary tale of pumpkin cooking tragedy that I thought you might like. My mom once made pumpkin soup, and it was so bad that she couldn't even eat it. But my dad, loving husband that he is, finished his bowl and asked for more. So, yeah, since then I've been of the sweet pumpkin persuasion. :)

We make a very similar dessert to "THE pumpkin dessert", but we call it "pumpkin pie cake". It's a favorite at Thanksgiving, but reading the recipe again makes me want it NOW!! Great post!

You know, what's funny Kate is that I didn't realize pumpkin is seasonal - like I couldn't even FIND pumpkin in a can in the stores last spring/summer. I saw a whole bunch at Freddies the other day so I grabbed like 5 cans so I can have plenty of pumpkin when I need a fix. lol

Thanks for sharing the link, but unfortunately it seems to be down... Does anybody have a mirror or another source? Please reply to my post if you do!

I would appreciate if a staff member here at eloise-lily.blogspot.com could post it.

Thanks,
Peter
